Beverley Building Society has expanded its lending criteria to accept mortgages from non-British nationalities.
The mutual company says it will consider these types of borrowers when making loans of up to 80%, depending on the appraised value of the homeowner's property, excluding self-build homes.
Applicants must have lived in the UK for at least three years, have a UK bank account and have at least one year remaining on their visa.
These include skilled worker visas and health and care worker visas.
The East Yorkshire-based association added that it accepts EU nationals with settled or settled status and foreign nationals with residency rights.
The lender says it does not rely on “computer-assisted mortgage decisions” and instead “our team of experienced mortgage managers consider each case on its merits.”
Its wide range of home loans includes those for first-time buyers, homeowners, remortgage and retirement loans.
