Please give us an overview of your career so far.
I have spent most of my career in product, proposition and transformation roles across investments, insurance and mortgages.
I started working at Halifax Share Dealing trading stocks for clients. Working in the stockbroking industry during the financial crisis was manic, to say the least.
After working in investment and insurance products, he moved to mortgage transformation and joined Accenture three years later.
With almost everyone starting their mortgage process on their mobile phones, I want to ensure that the mortgage process is completely digital and self-service.
During the pandemic, I joined nCino to lead the development and launch of the company’s mortgage solutions in the UK and have never looked back.
How does nCino operate and what is its relationship with mortgage brokers?
nCino provides intelligent mortgage solutions that simplify the entire mortgage process. Replace manual tasks with automated workflows for faster responses and a better customer experience.
Using a configurable, data-driven platform, lenders can deliver a personalized and efficient mortgage experience across multiple channels (branch, broker, phone, online) to improve customer satisfaction and retention. You can.
Our broker portal allows users to submit loans, track applications, upload/download documents, and manage existing cases.
We believe in what we are building and its potential to be transformative for lenders
We easily support third-party integrations, allowing lenders to configure specific customer journeys across all the lending products we support.
What does your role look like on a day-to-day basis?
I lead the strategic development and lifecycle of nCino mortgage products in EMEA, overseeing everything from ideation to market launch and beyond.
I collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, marketing, professional services, customer success, and sales to ensure products align with our goals and market needs. No two days are the same when you set the product vision, manage the roadmap, prioritize features, and make critical decisions to drive product growth and market competitiveness.
When I work in product development, I like the feeling of building something to solve a problem.
We also analyze market trends and collect customer feedback and performance data to adjust and guide future product innovation elements.
What is one of your business goals for the next 12 months?
We're excited to be able to demonstrate the positive impact our products are having on their businesses through customers who are actually implementing this solution.
We also look forward to releasing multiple new features that will make retention, underwriting, and product pricing significantly easier for our clients.
What has been the biggest challenge and highlight of your career?
Perhaps it's the sheer amount of information you have to absorb in the transition from industry to consulting, and from a single worldview to a broader scope spanning business and technology.
If you buy it cheap, you'll end up buying it twice. I've found that to be true in every area of life.
There have been many highlights, but the mortgage product we're currently building at nCino is by far the best. This is partly because I believe in what we are building and its transformative potential for lenders, but also because of the people I am working with. I will cooperate with you.
Is there anything you would like to change about the mortgage market?
Almost everyone starts the mortgage process on their mobile phone. That's why we want it to be a fully digital, self-service process, with advice only available to first-time buyers, vulnerable customers or those with complex needs.
nCino replaces manual tasks with automated workflows for faster responses and a better customer experience.
If you weren't working in financial services, what other careers would be appealing to you?
If I have time again, I plan to learn a trade or trade.
When I work in product development, I like the feeling of building something to solve a problem, so maybe I'm leaning toward a career that allows me to continue that theme.
What is the best advice you have received?
If you buy it cheap, you'll end up buying it twice. This is what my grandfather taught me and I have found it to be true in all fields.
