Major property companies warn of rise in CGT for landlords

Amid rumors that Rachel Reeves will defer capital gains tax increases for landlords in her so-called 'Doom' autumn budget, Paul Hardy, managing director of the LSL franchise, says landlords are being 'assessed'. We are asking the government to show us.

He says this is particularly important in light of recent tax reforms and the upcoming Tenancy Bill, which will encourage continued investment in the sector.

Mr Hardy said: “As the Autumn Budget approaches, there is speculation that the Government may not now raise capital gains tax on the sale of second homes, which would provide some relief to landlords.

“Given the pressures from recent tax reforms and the upcoming Landlord Bill of Rights, the private rental sector will have some reassurance that its value is being recognized.

With so much on the table, fall budgets are extremely important for both homeowners and prospective buyers. ”

“No action is intended to undermine the idea that real estate remains a sound investment, as this not only benefits landlords but also ensures a healthier supply of rental housing for tenants. Because it will happen.”

“This will be encouraging news for estate agency franchise partners across the UK, as rental income continues to provide a consistent revenue stream alongside house sales, providing greater financial security. .”

“A lot is on the table, and the Autumn Budget will be crucial for both landlords and prospective buyers, and we hope the Government will carefully balance measures to keep the property market thriving. Masu.”
