A moody marketing idea can make for a very merry Christmas for real estate agents.

Who better to advertise your real estate agent's properties at this time of year than a grumpy Grinch?

The decision was made as part of a new festive marketing campaign by the north London rental company, which came as a surprise to the company after receiving inquiries “across the board”.

Legacy Property Consultants says it's seeing special interest in properties featuring everyone's favorite Christmas grumpy character.

Real estate agency staff have been photographed dressed up as Dr. Seuss characters, poking out of cupboards and shower stalls, and lounging on sofas.

According to a report in Ham & High, Legacy owner Dennis Matse Olele and his wife Leila saw another agency adopt a similar idea and wanted Christmas to copy it. He decided it was the perfect time.

And it worked, with some listings featuring the Grinch receiving 840% more clicks than other listings.

“We were thinking about how we could differentiate our ads on real estate portals and make them stand out,” says Matseolele.

“I saw another agency feature a panda character in their listing and suddenly I was flooded with ideas.

“I said, ‘Why don’t you try playing the Grinch?’ – and Dennis, who doesn’t normally agree to things like this, said, ‘Why not?’

She said: “At first, it wasn't easy to tell homeowners that we wanted to take pictures of the Grinch on their property.

That statistic is something we've never seen before. They're going crazy. ”

“But the more we can do it, the more examples we have of how well it works.”

She added: “The statistics are like nothing I've ever seen before. They're crazy. Within hours of posting listings online, two or three properties were rented.”
