Lettings Tech Firm Goodlord has launched two upgrades covering identity fraud and financial sanctions checks ahead of the stricter landlord rules led by the Renter Rights Bill.
The company is deploying automatic sanctions checks as part of its Pro reference software.
The move will be required to see if future tenants will appear on the UK national financial sanctions list starting May 14, and to see if they will match or report concerns to the Financial Sanctions Implementation Bureau. is.
Previously, these checks were only required if monthly rent exceeded 10,000 euros (£8,275). The new rules apply to all tenants.
The company has also released additional compliance software designed to streamline the right of Rent & Identity Fraud Checks, which provides facial recognition capabilities.
The upgrade is now ahead of the Renter Rights Bill, which is currently in the Senate committee stage. The government has promised to change the landscape between landlords and tenants.
