Spareroom.co.uk's list for managers living in London based Holidaylet Properties needs to cram 750% to sleep in the living room as tenants caused anger in the campaign group Acorn.
The group claims it is “the perfect example of why landlords need to regulate.” The property owner says he is “looking for a live-in Airbnb host to manage two other rooms” in his Crouchend apartment.
Drawer bed
Nevertheless, managers and tenants should live in open plan kitchen/living rooms with small pull-out sofa beds with “bulky” mattress toppers.
In the mitigation, the owner points out that guests will only use the kitchen “once” and may be “limited” to allow privacy.
“Rent reduction”
Manager duties are focused on checking guests 6-8 times a month. In exchange they will not get wages, but will reduce rent by £750pcm.
However, on the same site, the price for renting a room in a shared home in the area starts at £200 with less than that, and they all have a proper bed.
Acorn screenshots the ads (see photos) and loads the captions into X.
Community Union Acorn has played a very active role in protecting tenants' rights in recent years, but regularly attacks both landlords and agents, and has been featured on many occasions in Neg.
