Stamp Duty Receipt for 17% jump with House Building Boost

It shows an increase in sTAMP obligations and other real estate transaction receipts “reflect the housing market recovery and the expected increase in activity ahead of the decline in the NIL rate stamp duty threshold for April 2025.”

Bodhis is expected to see a steady rise in stamp duty revenue, adding that receipts will reach £26.5 billion in 2029-30.

On April 1st, it will drop from £250,000 to £125,000 for Home Movers and from £425,000 to £300,000 for first-time buyers.

“Over 70,000 buyers have missed the deadline and estimate that they will be completed in April, with a third of that being FTBS.”
