Zoopla has announced a new feature on its property page that will provide property searchers with additional local information.
Crime rates, flood risk and planning applications are now provided as standard on the portal. 
Zoopla uses its connections with third-party data providers and local authorities to provide this “exclusive insight”.

According to the portal's data, 50% of people looking to move conduct a search five to 10 miles from their current home, and 32% conduct a search more than 10 miles away. .
So there is a clear need for information to help people better understand the communities they are considering moving to.

Once signed in, consumers will be able to see the number of reported crimes and whether their area is considered a high crime risk.
You will also be able to see if your home is at risk of flooding. You will also see details about how many planning applications have been filed near your property.
Zoopla claims to be the only portal where consumers can access this type of information outside of a subscription model.
Increase visibility
Towards the end of last year, search functionality was further improved with the addition of six new “smart tags.”
The company added a “Properties for Sale” carousel to agent profiles at the bottom of the listings, which will increase visibility of the properties sold by each company.
We also rolled out improvements to the Find an Agent page to allow consumers to search for agents based on geography, radius, and agent type.
